News From The Worshipful Master
Brethren,
They said this was suppose to be a mild winter, but according to January the professionals are wrong. Hopefully February will be a little milder.
In January Beaver Valley Lodge raised 2 Master Masons. I would like to thank all the brethren that came out and helped in the Craft. On the 22nd of January the brethren of the Eighth Masonic District had a visit from the Officers of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. Beaver Valley Lodge was filled to the hilt from all the visiting brethren. Each Grand Lodge Officer presented a very inspiring speech. I would like to thank all the Grand Lodge Officers for this educational experience.
Beaver Valley Lodge will hold its Monthly Stated Meeting on February 3rd. The meal will start at 6:30 pm followed by the business meeting at 7:30 pm. The Stated Dinner will consist of Fried Chicken and Potatoes. We will be holding a practice for our inspection on the 24th of February. The practice will start at 7:00 pm. On the 26th of February Beaver Valley Lodge and Knollwood Lodge will be holding their Annual Inspections. Knollwood Lodge will be portraying the Master Mason Degree at 9:00 am and Beaver Valley Lodge will be portraying the Fellow Craft Degree at 1:00 pm. Beaver Valley Lodge will be hosting the Inspection Dinner at 12 noon. The ladies from Eastern Star will be preparing the meal. Please come and support your lodge at its annual inspection. The Worshipful Master will announce at the February Stated Meeting whether we will be holding degree work on the 17th of February.
The Worshipful Master has tickets for the Grand Master’s Reception at Roberts Center in Wilmington, OH. This event is on March 5th and at 6:30 pm. The tickets cost $25 per person. Hopefully you will come and show your support for our Grand Master MWB Bradford A. Goebel.
Brethren if you are coaching a brother. Please get together with our Lodge Education Officer (WB Bruce Gardner) and inform him of your candidate’s progress. We need to know this to schedule him for his next degree.
The Eighth Masonic District has 10 lodge inspections scheduled for February. The dates are on the calendar. See you at Lodge.
Fraternally,
Stephen L. Scarpelli
Worshipful Master
From the Secretary’s Desk
Brethren,
As many of you know, I am the Education Officer for the Lodge. There are four (4) Grand Lodge education programs that each Lodge is required to portray during the year. For the stated meeting in February, I will be portraying one of these programs. The subject of the program will be “Heroes”. I will ask each one of you who attends the meeting to think about who your childhood heroes were. In addition, I will be asking you to think about the meaning of the word hero and who you might fit the description of a “Hero”.
A Wii Bowling tournament was held during month of January. I want to thank Zach Roush for hosting. I would also like to thank all those who participated. Future plans for social events include: a Euchre Tournament and a Golf Outing.
Anyone who would like to help plan and/or participate in these events, please contact Zach (513-885-8672) or myself.
As always, should your address, telephone number, or other personal data change, please let me know immediately. If you are connected, feel free to e-mail your change. It's much faster and I will let you know that I have received your update!
For those of you that have e-mail accounts, the Trestleboard is available through e-mail. This allows you to receive the Trestleboard ten to fourteen days earlier than by snail-mail. If you wish to receive the Trestleboard via e-mail, please send your request to hydroman14@netzero.com.
Fraternally and Sincerely,
WB Bruce O. Gardner, Secretary
Beaver Valley Lodge #753
Hello prophets and ladies,
Ormus is busy at work. We are trying to find some new fund raiser to continue to support our children of the temple by being able to continue the Easter and Christmas parties.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know so we can pursue them. We are currently looking into the possibility of raising our yearly dues a small amount to help offset some of the costs as well as the increase of supreme council dues.
We are also planning our annual Grotto ball; we have had a great success in the past and plan to continue the fun and fellowship. We will be announcing the dates at a later time.
If there is anyone that would like to become more active please feel free to call me, we are always looking for more help.
The Supreme council has sent us some information to get new members to join the realm, if you have any friends that you feel they would make a great prophet please get them involved.
I want to thank all the prophets for their thoughts, prayers and cards for myself and family after the passing of my father. THANKS this is what masonry is all about pulling together when adversity hits a fellow brother.
Prophets don’t forget those special ladies, February 14th is Valentine day so make sure you get out and get something special.
And remember the letter “G” also stands for Grotto
Fraternally,
Brian Arnold, Monarch
