May, 2012, Trestle Board Newsletter

News from the Worshipful Master: Brethren, Well, we thought we were going to stay warm but as I prepare this newsletter it’s cold and blustery outside. We have been busy trying to get several of our candidates through their degrees. If anyone is available to help out to do the charges and lectures, please let me know. We will be doing a FC degree next month on a Saturday and will need some help getting them done. Also, due to some personal issues with a few officers we have some open slots that need to get filled. If you are willing to step up and fill in please let me know – we could use the help. If you are interested in getting in line or back in line please come to the next stated meeting and get with me or Brother George Dexter, and we will get you into a slot and get your journey started as an officer. Being an officer is very rewarding and helps you learn what Freemasonry is all about, and it’s one of the duties that helps your lodge grow. Please come out and support your Lodge. We will be having fried chicken at the next stated meeting for the meal, so come out and have some fun and fellowship. Bring the family, and if you are able please try and remember to bring a covered dish so there is plenty of food for everyone. The last few months have been kind of sparse on the food, so please try to bring a dish with you to share. Letters will be sent out to those members who have not paid their dues. You are suspended from Masonry until you pay your dues; that excludes you from attending York rite, Scottish Rite or any other Masonic bodies. If you have questions please get a hold of us, we have given everyone ample time to pay their dues. As always, if you want to come to the meetings and have no way of getting there please get a hold of myself or WB Partida and we will see that you get a way to Lodge. Fraternally, WB Brian S Arnold Bkarnold1512@yahoo.com (937)212-4214 From the Secretary's Desk: Brethren, As always, should your mailing address, email address, telephone number, or other personal information change, please let me know immediately so I can change it in our official Lodge records. For those of you that have valid email accounts on record, the Trestle Board is available through email. This allows you to get your bulletin 2-3 weeks before you would receive it by “snail mail.” If do not receive the Trestle Board by email but would like to, please send me a message at the email address listed below and I can make sure you get added to the email list. Fraternally and Sincerely, WB Albert J. Moore (614) 214-1432 jeffreymoore46@gmail.com Prophets, At our March meeting a motion was also made to raise dues to $31.00 ($30.00 with an Enchanted Lantern). I have tabled this motion until our May meeting to allow all the Prophets of the Realm to be duly notified of this motion through the bulletin. The purpose of this action is to prevent the persistent loss of funds seen over the past few years, and to secure the long term financial solvency of Ormus Grotto. Please plan to attend our May meeting to vote on this important issue. Our Spring Ceremonial will be held on May 12, 2012, at 3:00 p.m., in Springfield. If you know of a Master Mason in good standing who would like to become a Prophet of the Enchanted Realm, please let me know and we can arrange for them to be at the ceremonial. We will also have our Monarch’s Ball that evening at 5:30 P.M. Again this year it will be held at the Elks Lodge at 2801 Old Troy Pike, Dayton, OH, 45409. The cost is $20.00 per person. Please contact me at the phone number or email address listed above, or Chief Justice George Dexter at 937-271-6391. Our next regular meeting will be Tuesday, May 1, at 8:00 p.m., at Beaver Valley Masonic Temple. Please plan to join us. Fraternally, Jeffrey S. Moore, Monarch
