News from the Worshipful Master:
Hello Brethren,
I hope that you have all made it thru the cold winter months so far. I think we have been blessed thus far, not having too much white stuff falling from the sky. We have been busy working on our inspection degree, and I hope everyone can come out and show the support to the new officers. We have a whole new line up this year with a lot of new officers, so it will be good to see them advance through the line over the next few years. It is always nice to see a change; new faces mean new ideas.
I would like to invite all of the brothers and their families to the Lodge on February, 11, 2012 at 6:00 p.m., for our awards night. It will be an open awards night so your family can come see you receive your awards. We will open Lodge around 5:45 and then take a break and bring the families up. We will start the awards around 6:00 p.m. There are a lot of brethren receiving awards this year a few 50 & 60 year members. RWB Doug Boone will be present to present these members with their awards. So if you can come and show them your support, I am sure they would appreciate it; I’m sure there will be plenty of good stories to hear. We will follow up with refreshments.
On February, 18, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. we will have our annual inspection. We will be portraying the EA degree this year. We will have coffee and doughnuts at 8:00a.m, then we will have lunch provided by Knowlwood Lodge. They, too, will be doing there inspection in the EA degree at 12:00 p.m. Please come out and support both of these Lodges.
After 20+ years, WB Steve Scarpelli has retired from preparing our Lodge bulletin and our Sr. Warden, Bro. Jeffrey Moore, will be taking over. Please be patient with Bro. Moore as he learns the ropes of the bulletin over the next few months. If you know of anyone who does not get their bulletin, please let Bro. Moore know. He can be reached at (614) 214-1432 and by e-mail at jeffreymoore46@gmail.com
I hope to see a lot of new faces in lodge this year and if you need a ride to any of the meetings please feel free to call myself or WB Partida and we will make sure you get a ride.
Fraternally,
Brian S. Arnold

From the Secretary's Desk:
Brethren,
As always, should your mailing address, email address, telephone number, or other personal information change, please let me know immediately so I can change it in our official Lodge records.
For those of you that have valid email accounts on record, the Trestle Board is available through email. This allows you to get your bulletin 2-3 weeks before you would receive it by “snail mail.” If do not receive the Trestle Board by email but would like to, please send me a message at the email address listed below and I can make sure you get added to the email list.
Fraternally and Sincerely,
WB Albert J. Partida, Secretary

Prophets
Weather permitting, our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 7, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. I hope to see all the prophets of the realm come out. Our February meeting has been canceled the last two years due to inclement weather but so far this winter hasn’t been too bad, so I’m hoping our luck will hold out and the meeting can proceed as scheduled.
I would like to start discussing plans for the annual Monarch’s Ball at our February meeting. If you have any ideas or suggestions about where to have the Ball, or what vendors to hire, please come to the meeting to discuss these details with us. Last year, PM Jeff Shaw helped us arrange to have the Ball at the Elks Lodge, where he is also a member, and Prophet Doug Miller helped us find a more budget friendly DJ. I thank these Prophets for their input and look forward to getting the planning under way. I will also be contacting Khana Shahar Grotto soon to begin arrangements for our Spring Ceremonial. Check back later for more details on both of these events.
At our January meeting, we continued to discuss our budget issues. We asked for and received a rent reduction from Beaver Valley Temple Board, but this reduction alone was not enough to keep Ormus Grotto from losing money. I have tabled further discussion on this topic until our March meeting, but at that time it is my intention to come up with a plan to make our organization fiscally stable so we can continue to meet and work for years to come. We have discussed fund raisers, raising dues, and finding a more cost effective meeting place. Please plan to come to our March meeting and share your thoughts, as the outcome of this meeting will have an impact on all of us.
Fraternally,
Jeffrey S. Moore, Monarch
